MiHyun Kim's ongoing focus in scholarship is in the study of identity through languages, words,
and letters. Her works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions at museums and
galleries in the united states, Europe and Aisa.
Also, her works have been awarded nationally and internationally such as 2nd Biennial International
Juried Exhibition—3rd Prize, The 37th UCDA Design Competition-Award of Excellence and In Transition
Russia 2008—Best of Show. One of her artist book—Typography as Storytelling—is in permanent Lonsford Collection at Purdue University.
MiHyun Kim is a Visiting Professor at University of Texas at Arlington. She holds a master of fine arts
degree from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Visual Design focused on Typography as well as
a bachelors of fine arts degree from Duksung University in Seoul, South Korea.
